The government has advanced the release of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme’s 21st installment for farmers in three flood-affected states. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the distribution of over ₹540 crore to more than 27 lakh farmers across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand on September 26, 2025.

Special Relief for Disaster-Hit Regions

This early release specifically targets states severely impacted by recent floods and landslides. The timing reflects the government’s commitment to provide immediate financial support during natural disasters.

Agriculture Minister Chouhan emphasized that this ₹2,000 installment will help farmers meet immediate household needs and purchase seeds and fertilizers for the next sowing cycle.

State-wise Distribution Details

The 21st installment benefited farmers across the three states with specific allocations:

  • Himachal Pradesh: 8,01,045 farmers received ₹160.21 crore
  • Punjab: 11,09,895 farmers received ₹221.98 crore
  • Uttarakhand: 7,89,128 farmers received ₹157.83 crore

This release brings the total disbursement under PM-KISAN to these three states to over ₹13,626 crore since the scheme’s launch in February 2019.

When Will Other States Receive Benefits?

Farmers in remaining states eagerly await their turn for the 21st installment. Media reports suggest the nationwide release may occur in October or November 2025, potentially before Diwali festival.

The PM Kisan scheme typically follows a four-month cycle between installments. Since the 20th installment was released in August 2025, the complete 21st installment rollout is expected by late 2025.

Essential Requirements for Farmers

To receive the 21st installment, farmers must ensure mandatory e-KYC completion. Those who haven’t completed their electronic Know Your Customer verification may face payment delays:

  • Aadhaar-linked bank accounts
  • Completed e-KYC verification
  • Valid land ownership documents
  • Updated mobile number registration

Eligibility and Scheme Benefits

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible small and marginal farmers through three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.

Farmers can check their beneficiary status by visiting pmkisan.gov.in and using the “Know Your Status” feature with their Aadhaar number or registration details.

Government’s Continued Commitment

Since its launch, the PM Kisan scheme has transferred over ₹3.75 lakh crore to farming families nationwide. The early release to flood-affected states demonstrates the government’s responsive approach to agricultural crisis management.
