Dr. Hemen Sarma, Associate Professor and Head of the Botany Department, earned distinction in both the career-long and single-year categories. Ranking 41,711 globally in 2025, Dr. Sarma has appeared in the single-year list for three consecutive years since 2023. His research focuses on nanomaterials, environmental pollution mitigation, and phytoremediation, garnering wide international acclaim.
Prof. Sanjay Basumatary, Head of the Chemistry Department, is recognized in the single-year category with a global rank of 96,146. His work emphasizes sustainable energy, catalysis, and advanced materials. Prof. Basumatary has also featured on the list for two consecutive years, reflecting his impactful contributions in Energy and General Chemistry fields.
The 2025 Stanford–Elsevier list includes 6,239 Indian researchers in the single-year citation category and 3,372 in the career-long impact category, showcasing the rising global research influence of Indian scientists.
